Wanted, At Large - a feline-inspired Steel Fluff Collage/Doodle - ready to hang - free delivery in Lower Hamilton
This creation was made from snippets of a 1976 Eatons catalogue (remember scrolling a book, not a computer screen and awaiting the special delivery?)
“Wanted, At Large” is the story of Freddie and his insatiable addiction of scratching stuff! He is wanted, at large, on the local 6 o’clock news for scratching the curtains, oh ya, and the sofa too. He escaped from his home a week ago after shredding all the curtains and sofas in his own home and is now breaking into neighbourhood houses and doing the same. Freddie is a serious addict. He looks cute on the TV (black and white, back in the Seventies!) but don’t be fooled if he arrives at your door. He will charm you, case the joint, and then break in while you are a’snooze and rip the place to shreds. If you see this violent scratcher, double lock your doors and windows and call the local authorities.
On the back of the piece, more Eatons collaging which includes the ad for the 12” TV that comes with fancy antenna for superior tuning and fast warm up…it only takes 6 seconds for the picture to appear…state of the art! Teehee!!
“Wanted, At Large” is done on a 6” wooden panel with a hook for hanging, no framing required. Actual pieces of the 1976 are used (no scanning or reproductions used). Cat Doodles are hand drawn by the Cat Woman of Steeltown, inspired by her kitty charges and her own ‘naughty boy” Ollie ;)
