Every cat lover knows who is the ruler of the house, and it’s not them! The Queen of my Kingdom was Queen Allie. She ruled with a soft paw and a gentle lick but wake her from a catnap and you might see the other side of her. One of the grumpiest faces imaginable would be made if awoken prematurely. One of her royal subjects would step in to unruffle feathers, so to speak, if one of these incidents occurred. “Your Majesty must excuse her/him” was quietly uttered into the Queen’s ear and pets and kisses delivered to appease the monarch. “What impertinence!” says the Queen in return but she forgave quickly, especially if a treat or 2 was offered as an apology. The Queen loved her snacks even more than her beauty sleeps.
“The Queen” is done on a 3” square canvas with a hook for hanging, no framing required. Actual pieces of books (Alice in Wonderland and a mini dictionary) and other ephemera (scrap wrapping paper and a Queen Elizabeth 25p stamp) are used to make this one-of-a-kind piece (no scanning or reproductions used).
Celebrate your Queen, now and often!
