This creation was made from a snippet of a VERY OLD “Scribner’s Magazine”, 1890’s, advertising Warner’s Obesity Tablets. Scribner’s Magazine ran from 1887 to 1939 I added some other images/type from other cast-off magazines and books.

“Have It Your Way” depicts two gents riding to keep in shape thou the unicycle rider is all in it for the fun, he says. Ride a bike to keep those extra couple of pounds off or…take Warner’s Obesity Tablets, a harmless concoction of Vichy and Kissingen Spring Waters that apparently will take the excessive fat off, slowly and safely. Sounds like a Snake Oil salesman to me but “have it your way”! Teehee!!

“Have It Your Way” is done on a 4” square wooden panel with a hook for hanging, no framing required. Actual pieces of magazines, books and other ephemera are used to make this one-of-a-kind piece (no scanning or reproductions used).
